As a Regional Safety Manager, you’ll be a visible, trusted partner on our jobsites—coaching crews, reinforcing our Production Risk Management approach, and ensuring every employee goes home safely each day. You’ll combine hands-on field engagement with proactive hazard identification, thoughtful documentation, and meaningful follow-through on incident prevention, making you a key driver of continuous improvement across our operations. We are looking for a dedicated  Regional Safety Manager  to join our team in Concord, CA. Responsibilities Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:   Safety Policy Implementation  Implement and enforce company safety policies through personal interaction with project teams and field leaders and employees on jobsites.  Teach, coach, and mentor the company’s Safety Culture through Production Risk Management (PRM). May assist with training efforts, based on department needs. Compliance and Evaluation  Conduct site surveys to evaluate safety program implementation & compliance.  Write & review safety documentation (Job Hazard Analysis, incident reports, pictures, traffic control plans, pothole excavation plan, etc.) at each jobsite visited.  Attend daily safety meetings, providing Safety Training and awareness.  Hazard Identification and Prevention  Proactively identify hazards to prevent harm to employees, equipment, and the environment.  Investigate & document incidents, accidents, and near misses at the scene.  Incident/Risk Management  Track progress of “Future Preventative Measures” from incident investigations to completion.  Utilize resources (local, state, federal) to evaluate risk management effectiveness.    Requirements Qualifications Required  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent safety experience. 5+ years of experience in heavy construction safety.  Experience leading safety training, workshops or courses related to civil construction  Cal/OSHA 30-hour construction training course.  First Aid and CPR certifications  Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications  Preferred  Minimum 3 years’ experience developing and managing safety programs.  Additional Requirements Required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.    Reliable transportation to travel to different job sites.  Ability to work days, nights, weekends and possibly overtime as required.  Who Are We Looking For?   Effectively tackles unforeseen challenges with creative solutions.   Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively.   Make tough decisions when necessary.   Honest, transparent, and ethical.   Approachable   Benefits Total compensation package includes the following: Pay (base salary) from $120,000/year (depending on qualifications) Profit sharing- cash and deferred Vehicle allowance & gas card Comprehensive coverage- health, dental, vision (Competitive premiums with participation in yearly wellness program) Insurance- life and disability Paid time off and Paid holidays 401k plan Financial planning assistance Career growth and development DeSilva Gates Construction is a place to build a strong, growth focused career supported by mentorship from industry leaders.
