The Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations from project startup through final completion. This individual will oversee safety, quality, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, inspections, and daily construction activities while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Uprite's high standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in both ground up commercial construction and tenant improvement projects. Experience with tilt up construction is highly preferred.
What You'll Do:
Manage all day to day field operations from mobilization through project closeout
Lead ground up commercial and tenant improvement construction projects
Travel to San Antonio as needed during the initial phase of employment
Develop and maintain project schedules, including three week look ahead schedules
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel
Conduct daily jobsite walks to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are achieved
Enforce OSHA standards and promote a strong safety culture
Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
Coordinate inspections and ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and local building codes
Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining project schedules
Partner closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain daily reports, project documentation, and progress updates
Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and manpower
Lead punch list completion and project turnover activities
Build strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
What You'll Bring:
Minimum 7 years of Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor
Strong experience managing ground up commercial construction projects
Strong tenant improvement experience is required
Experience managing occupied renovation projects is highly preferred
Experience with commercial, industrial, retail, office, healthcare, hospitality, or education projects
Ability to manage projects ranging from $5 million to $100 million or more
Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience leading multiple subcontractor trades simultaneously
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Willingness to travel to San Antonio during the initial assignment before transitioning to Dallas Fort Worth projects
