You will bridge the gap between user needs, business goals, and AI technology by transforming insights into intuitive, high-impact experiences.   Your Likely Focus Areas: AI-First Innovation & Prototyping: You will lead the next phase of SmartNews by designing and prototyping next-generation experiences, including AI-powered news summaries, personalized discovery tools, and interactive content features that leverage LLMs. You will push the boundaries of traditional product design by starting with functional prototypes, rather than solely relying on static design tools.  Core UX Excellence: You will iterate on and optimize our news feed, content engagement and discovery features, article browsing, seamless ads integration, and navigation patterns. Your goal is to create frictionless experiences that maximize daily engagement and retention for the Japanese market. While you will be the primary owner of the design craft for your workstream, you will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Business members, and others, acting as a key contributor to the development of interactive, code-built prototypes.  主な業務内容 本ポジションでは、初期のプロトタイピングやディスカバリー段階から、高精度な（high-fidelity）デザインの実行、そしてリリースに至るまで、ユーザー体験を牽引する実務担当者として活躍していただきます。 エンドツーエンドのプロダクトデザインとAIプロトタイピング: 日本向けプロダクト機能のデザインプロセスを主導する。従来のFigmaによるワークフローと並行して、AIコーディングツール（Claude Code、Cursorなど）を活用してインタラクティブなプロトタイプを構築・テスト・検証し、プロダクトデザインの限界を押し広げる。 コラボレーティブ・プロトタイピング: PMやエンジニアと密接に連携し、インタラクティブなコードベースのプロトタイプを構築、テスト、改善することで、デザインコンセプトと開発ワークフローのギャップを埋める。 ビジュアル＆インタラクションクラフト: ビジュアルおよびインタラクションデザインにおいて高い基準を維持し、デザインやライブプロトタイプが日本のモバイルユーザー特有のニュアンスに最適化されていることを確実にする。 クロスファンクショナルなアライメント: クロスファンクショナルなメンバーと連携し、デザインが技術的に実現可能であり、ビジネスKPIに沿っており、開発サイクルへシームレスに統合されていることを確実にする。 ユーザーリサーチとデータに基づくデザイン: リサーチ結果や定量データを統合し、実行可能なデザインの改善案へと落とし込むことで、すべてのプロダクトや機能の変更がユーザーの真の課題を解決するようにする。 Responsibilities In this role, you will be a hands-on driver of user experience, moving projects from early-stage prototyping and discovery, through to high-fidelity execution and launch. End-to-End Product Design & AI Prototyping: Own the design process for JP product features. Push the boundaries of product design by utilizing AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) to build, test, and validate interactive prototypes alongside traditional Figma workflows. Collaborative Prototyping: Partner closely with PMs and Engineers to build, test, and refine interactive, code-built prototypes, helping bridge the gap between design concepts and development workflows.   Visual & Interaction Craft: Maintain a high bar for craft, ensuring designs and live prototypes are specifically tailored to the nuances of the Japanese mobile consumer market. Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with cross-functional members to ensure designs are technically feasible, aligned with business KPIs, and seamlessly integrated into the development cycle. User Research & Data-Informed Design: Synthesize findings from research and quantitative data into actionable design improvements, ensuring every product or feature change solves a real pain point. Highly proficient in using AI coding tools to build interactive prototypes rather than relying solely on Figma.   Market Expertise & Design Craft: A proven track record of designing for large-scale, successful consumer mobile products for the Japanese market, with a strong grasp of local UI patterns and aesthetic nuances.   Product Owner Mindset & Problem Solving: Deep understanding of how to balance user needs with business goals, technical constraints, and product strategy. You take full accountability for a feature’s strategic value and technical feasibility, distilling complex capabilities into simple user experiences. Collaborative Communication: Excellent cross-functional communicator who can clearly explain the "why" behind design choices to PMs and Engineers. Comfortable bridging the gap between design concepts and engineering to ensure smooth alignment.
