The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for assisting with the company’s business development, focused on mainland Europe and additional coverage of the UK. Working directly for the Head of EMEA Client Engagement, the BDM will enhance the revenue and growth ambitions of the Company by driving new business development through raising Validus’ profile. Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the BDM is to improve EMEA new client business development efforts, including some early-stage relationship management responsibilities with new clients. Originate revenue opportunities and manage deals from inception to conclusion, primarily through collaborating with the lead generation team within Validus but also directly through your own efforts. Contribute to ensuring excellence and consistency in service delivery across our EMEA client base. Sales Origination: In conjunction with the Validus Lead Origination and Marketing teams, proactively seek out and arrange sales meetings with new prospective clients for the range of Validus service offerings. Deal Origination: As part of the deal process, project manage deal mandate pitching and presenting to clients where appropriate, in close liaison with the various Validus service delivery teams. Client Coverage: Working with the Client Coverage team assist as a senior point of contact and helping to maintaining the highest levels of service delivery across all Validus teams in the early stages of the new client relationship. Project Management: Working alongside colleagues from Advisory, Global Capital Markets and Technology teams in delivery of new projects. Business Strategy: Contribute to developing growth strategies and improvements to our sales processes globally utilising feedback from existing and prospective clients. Innovation: Proactively identifying potential issues or areas of improvement and suggesting solutions to these. Requirements Within 1 month: Become familiar with Validus clients, marketing materials & client engagement plans Within 3 months: Become familiar with the internal infrastructure to ensure the client engagement cycle can be delivered effectively and efficiently Assist in 2 qualified prospect engagements (live deals we’re asked to quote on) Within 6 months: Assist in 6 qualified prospect engagements (live deals we’re asked to quote on) Have at least one retainer or project signed Required Skills Fluent in at least two mainland European languages (ideally French being one) and English Experience in FX hedging and execution Exposure and experience to private capital fund managers Proven track record of business development and revenue generation Based in London but able to frequently visit mainland Europe Benefits Eligible for company bonus scheme Enhanced Health Insurance with Dental, Optical and Mental health benefits Financial support towards qualifications Pension About the Company: Validus Risk Management is an independent technology-enabled advisory firm specialising in the management of FX, interest rate and other market risks.
