Internship Description Medical Informatics Engineering seeks an intern with experience in software design, coding and debugging. The intern will gain exciting real-world software engineering experience at a thriving company. We frequently work in small teams to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another. The ideal intern for this environment will be enthusiastic and collaborative. Responsibilities may include (in order of importance): Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable Individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions Document and test new software applications Assess new application ideas Research competitor offerings Develop applications (coding, programming) Interview beta testers   Requirements Computer Science/Network Engineering, Engineering, or Mathematics major Excellent analytical and mathematics skills Ability to work in teams Experience programming in C, C++, or Java Ability to log time (hourly position)   Benefits of Internship Practical experience with a wide variety of software engineering tasks Collaborating hand-in-hand with skilled teams of software engineers Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with seasoned professionals Opportunity to participate in networking events and company meetings Flexible schedule for students Compensation available   Physical/Mental Essential Requirements   Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, moderate lifting and carrying (up to thirty (30) pounds).  Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.        Ability to focus on detail and accuracy of work product.   Work is performed primarily in a non-smoking office environment, though travel may expose employee to inclement weather conditions.  Occasional high stress may be experienced.
